Birth Flowers
Flowers have been always a mean to express feelings and a way to draw a smile on faces.
Through the years flowers are found in literature, songs, paintings, decorations, jewelry, buildings, almost everywhere....
Floriography or the language of flowers, was popular in the 18th and 19th century.
Today with all the means of communication we have, flowers remain a warm way to communicate and express our feelings.
Before we go further we would like to know who invented this trend and why?
“According to the language of flowers, introduced to England in the early 18th century by Mary Wortley Montague, flowers had meanings. Each month has a symbolic flower whose characteristics may be "inherited" by anyone born in that month. Later authors have been inspired by this tradition to create lists that associate a birthday flower with each day of the year.”
